Loading Custom JBL Professional EQ

into JBL Professional SRX 900 Loudspeakers

The JBL Performance software is designed specifically to control and monitor SRX900 Series systems.

This page describes how to use JBL Performance to load custom EQ settings (IIR filters) from FIR Designer M and FIR Designer for deployment into SRX900 Series loudspeakers and systems.

FIR Designer M and FIR Designer have a built-in JBL Professional IIR filter mode to emulate filter behavior in SRX900 Series loudspeaker’s group EQ. The mode contains options for high-pass, low-pass, Bell and variable high-shelf filters.

FIR Designer / FIR Designer M

In the IIR Filters tab, select the JBL Professional mode and set up the EQ filters as desired.

JBL Performance

Download JBL Performance for macOS or Windows & run the software.

Load or create a project with SRX900 series products. Navigate to Tune Mode, select a group then open EQ View.

At the bottom of the screen, manually type in your filter types, frequencies, gains, and Q-values into the parametric EQ bands, copying the data from the filter list in FIR Designer.

(Eclipse Audio and Harman are collaborating to introduce direct export/import functionality to accelerate EQ settings transfer in the future.)
