Advanced Feature Guides

The FIR Designer software range offers far more than FIR filter design.

In addition to the tab-based workflow (from measurement import to DSP design export) which forms the foundation for DSP design, the software also includes an extensive collection of integrated tools and advanced capabilities for loudspeaker and audio system optimisation.

These advanced features provide alternative ways to analyse and visualise measurement data, evaluate DSP designs before deployment, automate repetitive tasks, streamline common workflows, compare multiple design approaches, and support the unique requirements of different amplifier & processor brands.

Not every capability is included in every Eclipse Audio product. Visit the individual Product Pages for detailed feature information, or view the Product Comparison Table for a quick side-by-side comparison.

Common Questions

Do all features work on both macOS and Windows?

Yes. The FIR Designer software range is available for both Windows and macOS, and the same core feature set is available on both platforms. This means you can follow the same tutorials and workflows regardless of your operating system.

Can I try all features in the demo versions?

Not all of them. Some advanced featureres are disabled in the demos, so refer to the individual feature guides above for a complete overview of each product’s capabilities (including video tutorials).

Are new features added to the FIR Designer software range?

Yes. The FIR Designer software range has been under continuous development since 2016, with regular updates adding new features, workflow improvements, processor support and DSP capabilities. Existing Feature Guides are updated as functionality evolves, and new guides are added as major features are introduced.

Do I need to use every feature to design optimal DSP?

No. The tab-based workflow provides everything needed to design custom DSP. The additional capabilities are optional tools that can improve analysis, automate common tasks, simplify workflows or provide specialised functionality for particular applications or DSP processors.
