FIR Designer M : Channels – Measurement Averaging
A single loudspeaker measurement indicates how a loudspeaker sounds at a single point in space. This is often not representative of the response of the loudspeaker across a variety of radiation angles or locations in a room. Combining multiple loudspeaker measurements into a single response can be useful in understanding the average behaviour of the loudspeaker and can be useful when designing crossovers, in multi-way loudspeakers, to work relatively well across a range of dispersion angles.
