  • New: A new channel copying window allows copying of any and all workflow tab settings from one channel to another.
  • New: An additional measurement response can be loaded on a new “Second Response” tab on the “2nd view” window, and the magnitude response can be displayed on all of the “2nd View” magnitude/phase plots. The magnitude of this response can also be flipped or inverted.
  • New: Filter list tables, on most workflow tabs, now have a sort button. Press once to sort in ascending frequency order and again to sort in descending frequency order.

Version 4.4.7 (3 August 2025)

  • Fix: Application was crashing when resetting the filters on the IIR Filters tab, if any of the existing filters were set to ‘Input’.
  • Update: The system target response is now available on the System Export tab plot.
  • Update: If “Pause FIR Auto M & P updating” is checked, clicking on the System Export tab now unchecks “Pause FIR Auto M & P updating” so that the System Export plot can be correctly refreshed.

Version 4.4.1 (3 April 2025)

  • New: The channel ‘Import’ tab now has a windowing option for the impulse response. The windowing, if enabled, is applied prior to frequency smoothing. Windowing options include those available for the final FIR filter – Boxcar, Cosine Tapered, Modified Adriene, Hanning, Blackman-Harris and Kaiser-Bessel – and with adjustable start and end lengths, plus a new Frequency Varying Time Window option.
  • New: Any plot can now be exported as a PNG image file and any individual plot trace can be exported to a multi-column text (TXT) file. To access plot export, click the download button on the lower right of each plot. When exporting images, specific image width and height (in pixels) can be set.
  • New: In all tabs in the channel workflow, plot displays can now be customized separately per channel, so that different magnitude and phase traces can be visible or hidden when working on each channel. When the “Use per-channel plot checkboxes” is enabled in Preferences, unique sets of plot checkboxes are tracked for each channel, and are swapped whenever the “Edit Channel” is changed. The Preferences setting and all the checkboxes are stored in the FIR Designer M system file. This saves significant time by eliminating the need turn plots on or off whenever switching between channels, and retaining visibility for only the traces that are important for each channel. (This functionality only applies to the FIR Designer M main window and not the ‘Second View’ window.
